Hi,
Got a strange issue with Windows 8 on one of our laptops.
On occasion, the user has need to connect to our office via a VPN whilst connected to a customer's network.
The issue we're having is that, once this VPN is established, our servers appear in the network browser for other others on the client's internal network. Obviously they can't connect to anything as authentication is required but the machines still appear.
It's as if the Windows 8 machine is sharing or broadcasting the server info from the VPN out over their local network.
This has happened with two different types of VPN (Windows 8 native one and also a Watchguard SSL VPN client). It never happened with Windows 7.
What on earth is going on and how can I prevent this from happening? The VPN and the resources at the other end of it shouldn't be visible outside of the client machine itself.
