Windows 8 XBOX LIVE For Windows launch games list from MS

1 or 2 are decent most are garbage 1 is already out on PC (Blazblue) the rest are bizarre & show MS taking aim @ Steam & indies on PC & yep you need to have upgraded to Windows 8 so I guess that excludes most serious PC gamers time to buy some surplus Windows 7 copies I think as MS stop manufacturing that in October 2012 regardless of demand to force Windows 8 adoption :rolleyes:

Yep you guessed it MS are also going to charge you for all 4 licences if you happen to own more than 1 Windows 8 device (Surface Tablet/Windows Phone/Laptop/PC) the game you buy will need a seperate licence for each device not quite sure why MS think its necessary to punish people this way as the gamertag logon system means only 1 device can be used at the same time but thats the licensing model 1 licence per device :eek:

For what i can tell the games are off the xbox live market? like arcade games? I was hoping for real Xbox games like Gear of wars

Yep. I would imagine that the windows 8 marketplace and xbox live marketplace are going to be pretty much the same thing. I expect that all the games above will be available for desktop, tablet, phone and console. Probably on a ' buy once, play anywhere' style system, so you can continue the same game of Angry Birds no matter what device you are using. Sounds pretty good to me.

I would imagine quite a few indies taking this up. It makes sense for games like Braid, World of goo, minecraft etc which are available on multiple devices already.

Gears Of War1 has been available on PC for about 4 years now. The only place you can buy it nowadays digitally is the GFW Marketplace. Its well worth it if your a fan of the series the PC version has 5 exclusive levels as well as a level editor DX10 + other extras/features.

Other than PinballFX2 and PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX, not really the best of launch games for the service. There are a fair few gems on the 360 Live arcade, so depending upon what is made available it may not be all that bad a service.

Yeah, also you can still find quite a few matches online in the evenings. My son plays it with his 360 pad and does very well against keyboard/mouse players. Well I take it they are using keyboard/mouse. So this whole rubbish m$ say about keys/mouse having an advantage is a load of bull.

Windows 8 is mainly developed for tablet devices, a lot of these games will work very well on tablets so all they are doing is focusing on their target audience. Which, although a PC OS, isn't the PC ...

GOW on PC has been full of aimbotters for years I gave up on it long ago for online matches. The co-op & SP are both still excellent though. Tell your son to make sudden random movements it confuses the kb+mouse aim botters!
