Anyone but me here having probs with Windows 8?
Random errors and shutdowns, some games not working properly and downloads not properly downloading??

Nope, other than the store not working on release preview it's brilliant. Haven't had a crash since devloper preview. Comp did play up on install though, so should reinstall but CBA as there's no decent apps anyway. I'll be preordering so I'll just wait.

There was a problem with some of the Intel CPUs that was quite widely reported, but they even fixed that recently through Windows Update. The fix worked for me anyway (Release Preview)

I only downloaded recently so haven't have an Windows Update. And I am using the release 64 bit version found on Windows store. I am using an Ivy i5.

I did it all over again lol so I hope it might have fixed it, if not where can I find the Windows Update. Is that a program I need to find from google / windows or does it come with the OS?

No literally just update Windows as you would do normally. Probably going through control panel would be the easiest way or type "windows update" while on the Start screen.

The one big problem with windows 8 it that there is no longer "search" in start -.-
And it takes a while to find control panel. Hang on let em see if their are updates.

EDIT: **** its happening again. I cant even access my computer.

Wow I never knew that.
I downloaded the updates of which there where 8. However I still get a queue error message when i try to load the HDD in my computer.

I know its still in Beta but I would have hoped for an OS that worked...

That is now my main problem.

No overclocks:

Ivy i5 3570K
UD3H Z77 mobo
Coolermaster Silent Pro 500W PSU
MSI 6850 OC
Seagate 500GB HDD
9GB Adata RAM

I'm not really sure what you mean by stable :/
Since I've only run it on W8.

What I meant by stable is if you've been running it fine for months with Windows 7 then it's more of a known quantity than a brand new build.

If it was me at this point I would run memtest to see if the memory is ok.

Already run Memtest and that showed up fine :)
I'm a few clicks of a button away from ordering Windows 7 if you think that is a good idea?

Guys how do I test my hard drive? Do I download something and run it from the PC, do I need to burn a file, if so how.
