All my old Steam and Origin games run fine on Win8, software wise most are fine but it depends on which ones you are talking about, just like some XP ones don't run on Win7 etc...
Also remember some companies also have specific Win8 versions if their Win7 version does not work.

Win8 is very good compatibility wise and in my case only had to change/upgrade one very old print/paint software program I had.
In general if it works on Win7 it should work fine on Win8.


Btw oldest game I've working on Win8 Pro x64 is XCOM-Apocalypse(1997 game) that's even pre Win98 lol.
