Reports coming in Windows 9 will be announced in April 2014 for a release 2015. Do you think this is to soon?

One thing I think Microsoft should do this is time is an Option when installing the OS for Desktop or Tablet mode.

Desktop would bring your normal Windows back and Tablet will be what we have now. Microsoft shouldn't be forcing the change, could even give the option to install tablet version on desktop for the people who like it.

Well to be honest if you like 8.1 the way it is, don't upgrade.
I'm sticking with my Windows 7 because I don't see much benefit upgrading to Windows 8.1.
 
I've read that the next update will be 8.2 and some sources appear to be saying it will bring back the Start Menu and allow Start Apps to open in a Windows on the desktop, which if true, would be a nice update. Source: http://www.neowin.net/news/start-menu-may-return-with-windows-threshold-update
