Windows 98 networking

I have this old IBM A21M laptop which someone put XP on. i just put it back to 98 se which it was designed for but it hasnt worked very well. some of the hardware is not installed properly. not sure what to do as i cant connect it to the network ( i have a netgear router). any clever ways anyone has to get the ethernet card and subsequently the internet connection through network working?

Sure it's got a network card? My Mum's old A21e had only a modem - the ethernet card was optional.

If it is installed you'll need the drivers. Go here and stick the model code number in to download the drivers.

aa god, windows 98 networking.. that takes me back.
get ready for hours of sorting, just for it to change its mind willy nilly :/

98 networking works fine with dhcp

just need to install the drivers for the NIC
