Windows 98 problems

My friend has a laptop thats running windows 98 but its stopped working in windows for some reason,all we get is a blank screen.
We have managed to lift of the Keycode out of dos but we dont have a copy of windows 98 so what i would like to know is there a way of reinstalling windows 98 without a windows 98 disk.

Laptops sometimes have a hidden restore partition,sometimes accessed with a key combination at boot time, look for that.
Or the manufacturer might have made a Win98 folder with all the installation .cab files in it. It may be hidden if it's there. Try a search of the hard drive for .cab files.
