I've put together an older computer with dual boot 98SE and XP, need this because I have never had success getting one or two oldie goldie games working properly on XP.

I'm not sure if its really a problem? But now that MS have stopped supporting 98 SE with updates, where can I find them now? Do I really need them? I guess I can use this OS just for those older games and not connect to the net at all, but as I recall, some of the updates enhanced 98 performance, the HD performance one springs to mind.

I've googled with no success.

Would appreciate advice on getting essential if not critical 98 SE updates again.

Thanks

Hi Mate, thanks for that, should have mentioned I'd found out about this unofficial service pack though, but not sure if the MS updates are needed over and above this?

If anyone can confirm, this is all I need I'll have peace of mind.

Thanks.

My second link should also help. There is an Administrator pack(s) from Microsoft to download if you follow the link.

Thanks, but don't see the admin pack?

URL says I need IE5 or above :) if using a different browser, then I follow that link for my Firefox 2.0 ... but don't see it, do you have a direct URL?

Actually, the more I think about it, all I'll probably need is the most up to date version of DX for 98SE, perhaps the service pack has this already?

Thanks again.

I see a page with choices on which of the 169 different upadates I can download. Try the link again with IE6.
