ok guys just turned my laptop on and guess what......
over 6 mins to load oh my god what has happend.......
looks in task manager and svchost is maxin out my cpu @ 100% so my intial thought is virus etc so I does the checking turning off prossess (down to 31 ). Cleans the reg with reg booster.I am at a loss now. I dont want to reinstall windows has I have to much work on this machine.
Any Ideas?

Post a hijackthis log and I will let you know if you have a virus/malware and then go to onee of the sites listed on http://asap.maddoktor2.com/ and they will advise how tyo clean it off.

Edit: You can get HiJackThis from www.merijn.org however dont fix anything with it without advice from one of the sites on the above list as you can seriously damage your system,

It tells me that you dont appear to have a virus or malware, so that aint the problem.

May be worth sticking in your windows CD and running the sfc /scannow command.
 
i restored to a previous point and i am ok now so i can only assume that it was microsoft updates screwing things up again. I have now turned off automatic updates.
