Morning lads & lassies,
Ok ever since removing Acrobat Reader from my system I have been having problems with my pc see list below

1) everytime I click an icon or select a program from my programs menu the computer does not open that software it just brings up a box saying Open With, and I get a list of different programs I can it with ? If I right click on a program to bring up the options menu I get the normal list but instead of the word Open being embolded the word Read is embolded, so If I want to open a certain program I have to right click and then click open ? for some reason if I just click or double click on a program as you normally would my PC is trying to read that program instead of opening it, how do I get around this problem ?

2) When I double click on my system clock I get a control panel error come up saying C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll36.exe Application not found I also get this error when I try to open other programs in the control panel such as add & remove programs and others.

So what do you lot think ?

Loss of associations is usually caused by a corrupt '.exe' or 'exefile' key in the registry. These are found in 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT'

It is possible to roll the registry back if you have some corrupt keys. I could copy verbatim from other sites, but if you google for 'c:\windows\repair' you should be able to find good instructions on how to do this.

The other option is to export the keys off a working PC and import them onto the fubared one.

If Regedit and Command will not run you can start them by right clicking on the Taskbar and selecting Task Manager. Select file and while holding down the ctrl key and select New Task (run). This will open a command window typing regedit should cause it to run.

Good luck
