Kind of a long story.
Last week one of my sticks of Crucial Ballistix died. So I sent it back to be replaced and while it was being replaced I continued to use my computer with one stick. During this time I formatted my hard drive. Reinstalled everything ect, Activated Windows. And used my computer for a bit. When my new replacement stick of RAM came back on Friday I installed it and everything was gravy.
But today when I booted up my computer it came up with a message saying that my hardware has significantly changed since I last activated and I need to activate again within 3 days.
Now this is all fair enough but i'm confused as to why it only happened now, 3 days after I installed new hardware. And I have restarted at least 5 times since then.
I just want to be sure it isn't a virus or something trying to phish my Windows activation.
I was just wondering if this is normal and if any of you have experienced anything like this?
Thanks.
