Windows Aero notifications

Been getting these damn annoying notifications popping up out of my taskbar saying 'Windows has detected that your computer's performance is slow'. Had a Google and tried turning notifications off in the Action Centre settings but still getting them.

Also randomly changes my computer's theme to Windows 7 basic sometimes which is hella annoying!

Anyone got a fix for that? I've tried fiddling with the advanced system settings but no luck.

Cheers.

I'm sure you can entirely disable this by turning off the windows troubleshooting maintenance message. I'm on XP at work so can't check but I'm sure it's under the action center and message settings.

This would entirely prevent it coming up, along with a few other messages too though :) I use to get it a fair bit on my old laptop which is why I looked into blocking the sod entirely.

System specs? Does this usually happen when you have a certain application open?

Sorry, specs are:
Asus P6T
i7 Nehalem 920
2 x Radeon 4890s
Corsair 850w TX Psu
500GB WD Blue and a 120GB Samsung 840 EVO
12GB Corsair DDR3

Not exactly the newest build but still does everything I need it to.

Usually happens when I've got more than one fullscreen app open. For example I'll be playing hearthstone or something then maximise a video on another monitor and it doesn't seem to like it.

I get this with some applications/games. The best way to get rid of it is to right click on the program's properties, click the compatibility tab and choose "Disable desktop composition."

This will disable aero while that program is running and then restore it afterwards. This will at least help stop the interruption.

Right thanks all.

@Vashiro - that was already unchecked! Maybe I did it last time when I was trying to fix this problem, can't remember.

@Link - I've done as you said to on a few of my most used apps, or apps that usually are open when I have the problem.

Also turned off system messages. Will let you know how I get on.

Thanks all.

Was working fine last night, now whenever I start up Chrome or a game (which I have set the properties to disable desktop composition, it automatically changes the theme to w7 basic! Damned thing!
