Windows alternative to XPEnology and freenas.

I would have used XPEnology or freenas but i really dont know how to use linux. most how to install new apps.
 
what im asking is can use windows as a NAS like freenas or should i switch ?

I i can use windows i just dont know how to use linux that why ive not installed the other 2 option, or can i run one of the other 2 inside windows and still get good results ?
 
Thats what i was thinking and i have setup the network like you have said, but I cant seam to get a personal cloud setup like freenas thats one thing i want to do but it seams much harder then i thought.
