is there any way of making Windows use the same way of accessing network resources as a Mac?
Windows typically uses drive letters, whereas OSX uses just network path names.
I know they can ‘see’ each other using their own way, but I need both to access files in the same way.

Primarily for Lightroom as I edit photos on both machines, with photos on a NAS. If I move a catalog between either machine it cannot see it without forcing Lightroom to relocate the NAS using its own type of network path.

Sorry if that isn’t very clear, but hopefully gives the point of the query!

You should be able to just point Windows or the app running on it at a directory on the network using "\\hostname\directoryname" instead of to a mapped drive.

It might be a particular quirk with Lightroom, zero experience with it I'm afraid.

Can you store the files in a cloud based share? From OSX you just persistent SMB share, but I think the authentication token only lasts 2 hours to a Windows based machine. If you are connecting to a NAS, perhaps use the NAS GUI if it has one?
