Yes im on Vista64, now I dont know when it happend but WAS disabled itself, when I try to enable it starts but then the following problem occurs, Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working, then I get the usual send this to Microsoft junk or Cancel box, without WAS I cant get any sound.

Any help is great because this is an OEM copy and I dont want the hassle of getting it reactivated after 2 days of installation.

What do you make of this?

The Windows Audio Endpoint Builder service terminated with the following error:
Windows Audio Endpoint Builder is not a valid Win32 application.

This is why I cant get any sound, this thing has decided to stop working, I cant make heads or tails about it.
