Windows Azure - computing in the "clouds"

What do people think of this? I'm uncomfortable with everything being online and like the thought of having complete control over my software. However I can also see the advantage of having access to certain pieces of information from anywhere.

I hope Windows 7 strikes the right balance.

You should read what it is first. It's not aimed at you, unless you're developing applications.

I think calling it a “cloud operating system” is marketing hype. It seems to give some nice administration features for managing web applications that scale over many servers. However I think it would only really benefit very large systems, like Amazon, eBay etc. So most developers won’t need to pay any attention to it.
