Windows backup image

I could use the W7 backup tool to make an image of the C drive right and then just use the backup on other systems so I don't have to bother installing Windows, all the software and updates again, right?

So I will take a laptop out of the box, put in the windos recovery cd, wipe the hdd from there and install the windows, software etc from the backup.

The systems are exactly the same (model), will this work?

It should be OK if the hardware is identical.

You may have trouble with Windows activation if they're using OEM serials.

Won't be entering in a serial key, they have HP's W7 Pro installed but will be replaced with enterprise so
