hey everybody my first post need a little help!

right after embarking on a new quest for a new computer i decided to build my own .
the last time i built a computer was 7 years ago and things have changed a wee bit .

anyways ill get to the point . during installation of windows 7 i install my raid driver put the windows 7 disk back in and it keeps going and then it restarts. it keeps doing it stuff then the swirly windows logo swirls around !! then nothing black screen . my harddrives start going fullspeed and nothing on the keyboard works .. ...

this is a clean install ther is nothing else on the hard drives and it will not let me enter safe mode .
iv ran mem test and everything is fine.

everything is brand new except the video card.

iv read around and this is what iv tried so far.

installing windows on just one hdd .. still does the same
taking all but one stick of ram out ... still does the same
installing the 32 bit version instead.. still does the same
installing it with nothing pluged in no usb devices no monitor.... still does the same

as i was saying before i read around and people say that it is the graphics card i currently have a 9500 gt .. i got it just put my new rig together while i make my mind up about what card im guna purchase .

this is my spec.

asus se motherboard
intel 920 processor do stepping
6gb of corsair xms3 memory
750 corsair hx power supply
nvidia 9500 gt graphics card(has 2 dvi ports on the back and an s video)no vga port
2 samsung f3 hdd's (trying to install windows in a raid 0 config)
lg lh5000 monitor

hope iv told you guys enough info and i hope somone can help !!

peace!

Hey! Sounds like a problem I just had - got Windows installed after 3 days of trying. Turns out there is a conflict with my gfx card and mobo, or something - whatever it was, I couldn't install Windows with my 9600GT installed.

Check out this thread.

I eventually swapped out for another graphics card and got it working.

i think its the same kind of problem sumat to do with asus motherboards .
you said it worked tho with no drivers installed . i havnt installed any drivers yet and it still dont work i reckon im just guna have to wait while i save up for a gfx card.

thanks for the reply man .

if anybody else has any ideas let me know thanks !!

Well, I think it has something to do with Windows installing the basic drivers at setup, so I used a different card to install and then put my card back in. I hadn't installed any of the drivers either.

Also, try and make a bootable usb of windows, that has helped some people.

I'm not really too sure, but it's worth a shot. Any luck?

ow i see .
why would making a bootable usb of windows help ? i only have a 2 gb usb stick i dont think that would be big enough would it?

also i have know idea how to make a usb bootable version im all for giving it ago tho if you could provide a know how ?

thanks for the help !!
