Hi, Well I've been having this black screen before windows login but there is a cursor showing, I thought its just windows OS is loading a bit slow but then its been weeks since it started.

Any ways to fix it without reformatting the OS? Tbh I installed the OS just few months ago so its fairly fresh installed.

I've tried booting it to safe mode and repair the computer option, updated my GPU driver too but didn't fixed the problem.

is this when booting?
I'd be willing to bet it is because you have a USB device attached. unplug any and all usb devices, keyboard and mouse withstanding and try again.

Check your startup items in task manager- see if anything is taking a particularly long time to load- you could then try delaying or disabling auto start.
Things like Google drive or Dropbox can take quite a while to get going if they are auto-runs at startup.

I've disabled those kind of activities already but still no luck fixing this black screen >.<.

Try disabling wired and wireless lan - see if the issue persists.

Remove antivirus software.

I would be looking at a repair install of the OS tbh.

I just had this exact problem on windows 7. I recently fitted a blu ray drive into my pc and it seems that is causing the problems. I disconnected it for now and windows is booting fine again.

Do you have multiple outputs on your graphics card?

Sounds like your display isn't set as primary. Your login screen is showing on another output.
