Is there an option to set it to run when the PC is switched on?

Seems silly having all my reminders in there and not opening the actual calendar?

There is an option to enable reminders when calendar is not running, but it does not seem to do anything

Can anyone recommend any other app?

Could you not just put a shortcut in the startup menu? That would load the actual window up which would be annoying, i'm sure if you google round you may be able to put something together that just sends it straight to the tray though. At worst you can easily set it to start minimised.
