Hi guys,

Sorry ...this might be a silly question and I am a bit out of touch

I am trying to install Windows 10 on a new NVME M.2 drive which is connected to my MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard with a PCI Adapter Card

....and I am getting this error:

windows cannot be installed to this disk the selected disk is of the gpt partition style

...am I missing something? or should I just format the M.2 into MBR?

Thanks

I had this PITA issue the other day, i cant remember now how i got around it. I seem to remember having to get a brand new copy of Win 10 on my USB, i had one on there already but it was a couple of years old and just nothing worked as expected so i think older copies are now no good

Did you boot the installer in UEFI or BIOS mode?

I think you can only use GPT if you boot in UEFI mode.

aaah!!!! - YOU NAILED IT!! :)

Thank you!.

The problem I was having - every time I selected UEFI for the USB Bootable ...my screen was going funny.
