Hey all. To cut a long story short i've had the worst day in a long time trying to fix my PC today. Finally got there after hours (and hours) of messing about and just as i've finished installing all the drivers and getting ready for my last (but absolutly NOT the first) restart of the session, disaster strikes.
I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium (blunder!) and instead of booting up as normal i get a black screen that says:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "next".
3. Click "repair your computer"
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
File: Windows\system32\DRIVERS\jraid.sys
Status: 0xc0000428
Info: WINDOWS CANNOT VERIFY THE DIGITAL SIGNATURE FOR THIS FILE.
So my first question for you lovely people here is: "Am i screwed"
The second is that my keyboard (the nice and bright saitek one) doesnt seem to want to work in any of the pre windows screens to do with booting etc. Anyway round this? Do i need to blag up another kind of keyboard that this Dosesque will recognise?
I'm honestly fairly close to suicide by dropping this stupidly large and heavy chassis on my face from a great height, so any replies at all will be unfathomably appreciated.
