Windows Clock Issue

Every time I switch on my PC the clock has reset itself back to some date in 2001 and the time to 11pm. I check the BIOS on start up and it displays the correct time/date.

How do I stop this happening?

Just to clarify, the BIOS is retaining the time? i.e. it's not the battery?

Yeah, BIOS has the correct time/date, and when I load Windows the time/date is wrong.

Change the place where windows syncs the time from, and also download atomic world clock. I have it to sync every day and not every two weeks, which if iirc is what the default is.

If Automatic time synchronisation is enabled in Windows, disable it. Otherwise you might as well try enabling it

I just downloaded the atomic clock utility. Do I need to disable time syncing in windows or leave it as is?

Set your time source to ntp1.npl.co.uk (or ntp2). Good time source from National Physics Laboratory.

What does it say in control panel > regional settings. Is that set correctly?
