Not sure where to post this thread so thought i'd post here...

When trying to start my pc it gets to the "Starting Windows" screen and it never goes further than that and i was wondering if anyone could help me sorting it please.

specs:-
- i7 930 2.8 @ 3.8
- 6gb ram
- ATI 5970
- P6TD mobo
- Windows 7 64bit

Ive ran linX and its passed 20 times with no problems also ran HDtune Pro and i didnt have any errors on my harddrive either.

Ive found something that solves the problemkind of. I unplug it from the mains and turn it off at the switch then hold the power button for 10 seconds, plug it back in at the back and it gets passed the "Starting windows" screen. I don't want to be doing this everytime i want to go on the PC so does anyone know what the problem could be?

Thanks

I’ve run Intel Burn successfully only to find that Prime95 fails so you could try that. Run Memtest to eliminate the memory. I’d run without any overclocking (CPU GPU Memory) to see if that is the cause of your problem.

Ive ran the memory diagnostic and that passed ok. Ill try.running prime 95 and memtest on thursday when i get home. The processor is overclocked from 2.8Ghz to 3.8Ghz
