Windows Defender Final Released

Never used this peace of software before, I will check it out.

I think it's cracking! Since I switched to the beta I haven't had a single bit of Spyware, I double checked my system every so often with Ad-aware but that also came up blank.

the fact that you dont have spyware is probably because you're concious of it

i only install defender on peoples pc's that they've killed with spyware, if you never get any then all defender is doing is slowing down your pc

lol do you know what your talking about, its surely a good sign that defender is preventing further spyware getting on his PC.

I had that installed on few systems for months and it doesn't prevent spywares coming into system. If it is running background, how come it doesn't detect some spywares? I uninstalled them and use SpyBot S&D anyway.

yes i know

do you?

yes, defender does a great job of removing spyware + stopping it from installing, the best way is to just browse the internet on safe sites, it scans each file as it gets used, like an antivirus, so if you have this and av installed, you have two things scanning each file

scanning files as they're used will only slow your pc down

spywareblaster stops a lot of spyware in the first place, and spybot + adaware used with manual weekly/monthly scans is a better option for people who know what they're doing, and dont need their hand held when using their pc

i'd like to think that most users on these forums would know what they're doing to a certain degree

nothing is perfect, ewido antispyware is considered better, but for all the features (auto updating) its not free, but as my post above, it also scans all files

Virus software is useless, it just slows your PC down. Just don't download files! LOL - give it a rest.
