Hey all, I just wondering how to get rid of the windows defender and security alerts icons in the bottom right corner in the taskbar? I can rightclick and exit but the are back after the system is restarted. I have windows vista and have disabled things like superfetch and windows search because i am sick of hard drive thrashing, also these security alerts seem to be over the top as i have never had a virus or addware since xp sp1 and i like to keep it simple.

Click Start, type "Security Center" (yes, spelt that way!) and press Enter.
On the left, at the bottom, click "Change The Way Security Center Alerts Me".
Set your options in there.
