I'm currently spanning 3 hard drives into one volume on my storage PC using windows dynamic disks.

20GB of this space is a seperate partition for windows. I need to reformat this partition and reinstall windows. Will the data on the spanned volume be inaccessable after I've reinstalled windows? Would I need to back anything up or will the spanned volume still be available?

Thanks in advance,
Scott.

I should th9ink it will be ok yes!

I did the same thing some time ago, I had my Windows on 8GB of a 40GB Drive, and the rest of that drive was junk stuff, but I had a pair of 80GB Drives that were SPANNED using Windows 2000.

I had WinXP for that PC and I did a fresh install...

I realised that the 2 80GB Drives were spanned and I felt sure I lost everything but it was fine... Once I reinstalled the Drives etc that is.

XP seemed to notice it was a spanned volume... Im sure though that it didnt at first and that I had to re-use the disk manager, but Im going back a fair while now and I cant remember the exact procedure, but either way, my data was fine.
