Windows Experience Score - is it accurate

why do people always bring up the amd vs intel at the end of the day if your happy with the performance does it matter if intel or amd beat each other.
i'm happy with ether chip as long as it does the job!!!
so intel and amd fanboys please stop bashing each other.

Hey nippletweaker do you have cool n quiet turned on if so that could be the cause of the lower multiplier if a bios update doesnt fix it

It's supposed to increase over time, Vista had a limit of 5.9 and now Windows 7 has a limit of 7.9 I think. Though I don't think I've seen a game that carries the score on the back of the box.

Ahhh right, so even if it does work it has no use seeing as there's no indications on the software packaging as to what kind of score you would need to run the software adequately?

Are you happy with the CPU is it working as it should do ?

You have a AMD Phenom Quad Core 955 which Overclockers have clocked at 3.8ghz and get 4.7

I have a 5000 BE @ 3.3 and i get a score of 5.6.

Take no notice of it at all, personally i'm sure they included this crap program just so more would upgrade.

Maybe skim through the thread as he now gets 5.9 on the CPU like he should after clearing the BIOS.

How can overclockers ensure that the bios doesn't just revert to failsafe settings (i.e. stock cpu clock) a soon as you first start the motherboard up?

Also WEI is a true benchmark. It performs actual benchmarks when determiing the scores. It doesn't have a table of results for hardware.

I gotta agree with the OP now. Running Windows 7 x64 RC1...
Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz CPU score 7.3
Q6600 @ 3.5Ghz CPU score 7.3
Q9550 @ 2.83Ghz, anyone want to take a guess what it was?

... Yep CPU score 7.3.

Totally different chips, totally different caches, totally different clock speeds. But the same score every time.

My son's Win Exp Score (Vistax64) everything gets 5.9 except his CPU = 5.8 (E6750 OC 3.2)

l get 5.9 for everything Q6600 OC 3.2 Win Exp Score (Vistax64)

Windows 7's experience index goes higher...I think to 7.9. My CPU at 3.6GHz got a 7.6 score I think but I haven't tested it since then.
