I recently replaced my hard drive in my main PC, and wanted to put the old on into my HTPC.
I plugged it in, but I cannot navigate to it in explorer. I don't want to format the drive since I's my whole MP3 collection.

It's picked up in device manager, how do I navigate to it without formatting the drive?

Go to disk management (in your screenshot) and you have to give the disk a letter (f:\ etc) Can't remember exact step for step but should be easy to figure out

I think you might have to claim ownership of the files, I'm not sure about the procedure but have a look in Disk Management to see if that has anything in it to allow you to do so. :)

//edit mame has just explained it rather more clearly I think.

That wouldn't stop you seeing the disk in explorer though, it would only stop you getting into the folders/opening the files, and that would only be the case if he edited the NTFS security of each folder.

As mame said, go into disk management console and set a drive letter.
