windows explorer folder view crashing

this is on windows 8.1

If I try and open my folder with all my saved pics and videos saved from my phone the folder opens for a second then closes straight away

If I use Treesize to scan the folder then I can see the files, some of them open and others make media player crash

any ideas?

My Microsoft life am program has also stopped working. Reinstalled it but when I try to open it, nothing happens.

Reinstall windows needed?

Open Command prompt as admin, Type Sfc /scannow ,Press enter it will scan for corrupt files attempt to repair them.

Remove Divx if its installed.

I have this issue as well when copying files, at first i thought it was teracopy causing an issue as i do have a beta version installed. But after defaulting back to the windows copy manager it can still do it. It appears to be very random.
