I built my PC a couple of months back and yesterday my PC decided to reboot while I was playing BF3 for 10 minutes, a similar thing happened this evening but then following that I was presented with constant error messages of "Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working"

I scanned the pc, cleared some minor infections but the issue wasnt resolved, infact it got progressively worse to the point that I could no longer boot windows out of safe mode! on the odd time I could boot out of safe mode the system would freeze with the same old errors then kick me off....its been a NIGHTMARE.

After about 3 hours I decided....balls to it, ill just format! I formatted and re installed windows 7 64bit. After about 15 minutes my system unexpectedly restarted....I have got my Ethernet drivers back on and am trying to get drivers I need but guess what.....the error has come back! its far less aggressive at this point but it seems that my network connection is being cut out randomly!

I am seriously concerned now... a format didn't fully fix the problem and not the windows explorer errors are creeping back in!

Any advise would be awesome guys :(

Ill return to this thread tomorrow, I have to go bed

I was thinking Bios at first but then you got me stumped. Could be hard drive like ash said or possibly psu but psu wouldn't explain IE issues. Try a different hdd in it and use google chrome :p

The net issues was a strange one....it happened in IE and in google chrome.

The issues are so strange, at first it felt like a virus but after formatting im thinking hardware....:'(

Thing I dont understand is....the build has been working fine for around 2 months! I dont understand how these software type issues can be caused from a hardware problem - im not saying they are not but I dont get it.

I am back at work until 4pm and I will check all the power connections to the motherboard when I get home, I suppose I could try to install windows on my 1tb storage drive too.... This is looking like its going to cost big bucks :(

Thanks for your valuable contribution, you are clearly a highly prized member of these forums. Congrats for being a giant penis oh mighty keyboard warrior.

I clearly scanned OPs post instead of reading properly and at least attempted to contribute instead of being a bell end to people who attempt to offer a solution

Well when I had a failing hard drive, I kept getting crashs till one day, it wouldn't even boot. I recovered my files using a spare laptop caddy (and it just managed to transfer them). A motherboard hard drive scan failed at 50%..
