Windows Failed To Start - Help!!

Hi everyone, my son just called me to say that my PC won't start. It gives the message "windows failed to start" the only thing I done to the PC last night was to update the Marvell Mini Port?/Raid driver.

I did not reboot the system after the update, I just shut down last night.

Any ideas?

So I tried both options. i just cant get it to boot. I chucked an old drive on and it boots perfect. My DVD drive has failed too, although thats been on its way out for a while.

So, SSD, new DVD and then use these 2 old drives as storage me thinks!!!

Did not give me the option. I selected last known good and it just says windows failed to load. I select safe mode, same thing, I select windows repair same thing.

The message I get with the disk that has the issue is

0xc000000e

The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible

Yeah I will use it as a storage disk after I get the data. As long as it works.

KIA thanks mate. I have actually ordered an SSD something that this little issue has made me do. Probably a food thing as I have been wanting to do it for ages.

Hopefully the data will still be good on the shagged disk. But the plan is to dona fresh install on the SSD .

I do have a question though. How should info about using my 2 Samsung drives as data drives.

Should I just leave them as is? I mean they have both had win7 on them. Not really sure how to approach it.
