Hi there,

I am trying to setup windows file sharing between two PCs, both on the same domain, both on windows xp home sp2.

Normally I just run the wizard and it works file and i can see the other computers shared folders but it doesn't seem to be working and i have a feeling it is something to do with my firewall (comodo) or the fact i have been pratting around with the windows services.

Can anyone shed some light on the issue?

The issue is with this PC and the other PC can see other network users files fine, this is the PC with comodo and pratting around with services.

Thanks.

First step is to kill Comodo and then see if it works. If that doesn't do it, you will have to compare the services running on the machine that is working, with the one you "broke". See what it has turned on that the other doesn't.

You might also want to check to see if anyone is even allowed to access the shared folder. Right-click on the folder, click sharing and see if it is denying anyone. I am not at a Windows machine atm so I can't give you any detailed info - not from memory anyway.

xp home can't join domains

as for services, try disabling your comodo and make sure the following are running, computer browser, server, workstation
