Hi there,

I have a laptop connected with an extra LCD connecter to etend my desktop.

When I shut windows down and boot up the next morning with the monitor attached.

When I look in the device manager there are 4 "plug n play" monitors and a super VGA 1600x 1200 (which I installed to get the resolution big enough for my 2nd screen.

Also when I load windows, the resolution resets to the optimal resolution of the laptop screen.

How can I get windows to keep the resolution and also not install 4 plug n play monitors. This didn't happen on my old laptop.

Any useful advice would be great.

Thanks.

try new drivers for your graphics card/chip

give ultramon a whirl too, a must for multiple screens!

yeah, updated the graphics drives. Cannot find any specific monitor drivers.

Will give ultramon a whirl.

EDIT: I would also like to stop windows finding 3/4 extra monitors

EDIT2: Is there any legal free software like UltraMon? Don't really want to spend $$££

Old nvidia drivers always did 4 monitors , newer drivers shoudl fix that.
