Right a problem which is really bugging me at the moment. I am installing XP Pro onto a new machine for my Dad using a slipstreamed SP3 + RAID drivers.

It appears to install OK but when I go the start menu quite a few of the usual items in there are missing such as the games / windows movie maker to name a few. However there no errors are shown during the installation.

Now also the firewall is not there as well (apparently) as when I try to access it it is saying that the ICS service is not started, so if I go and start it, it gives me an error 1075 saying it has been removed ot marked for deletion - WTF, I've not done anything to it.

Now I've googled for solutions and tried a number but none seem to work as it seems to refer to as something not being registered.

Now I've reinstalled it a few times using different configurations of slipstreaming SP3 but it always seems to come up with this issue and it's really beginning to bug me so can anyone please help me before I tear my hair out (what's left anyway)

All this leads me to believe that there is a more fundamental installation issue - but what is it and what can I do about it!

Set up is

Q8400
GB-EP43-DSL
4GB DDR6400 (4 x 1)
2 x 1TB WD Green in RAID1
JMicron PCIe Raid controller
ATI 3650
Pioneer Bluray Driver

Thanks in advance for your help.

Well - I tried that I had to use nlite to add the raid drivers but then it gave me a BSOD after "starting windows" from the installation CD (right after it the F6 bit), though what I might do is install it none RAID with base XP and then add drivers and create the RAID afterwards.
