Windows folder 23gb? (VISTA 64bit)

I just checked my windows folder and its 23GB. Is this normal? I remember my windows folder was about 1gb on XP Pro.

Its normal - probably mostly your winsxs folder.

Unfortunately Vista does seem to get very bloated over time. I made my OS partition 30GB when I installed Vista 64-bit earlier this year, and I've only got 4.2GB free.

17.2 GB here, I guess it's normal.

yup

due to the winsxs folder growing, to ensure app compatibility

they should have just appended dll's and called different sections from them, instead of creating multiple copies of 'almost' the same file
