Windows Folder Shares on OSX Devices

Evening Gents,

Cutting straight to the point;

Anyone know of a way (yes i've googled) to enable a Windows share to automatically show up on a OSX device (AFP).

Preferably something I can run on Windows Server.. but even if its something like a linux option that I can latch onto the Servers shares would be fine.

Inb4: I know you can go connect to server etc but I want it to announce properly and automatically pick it up in finder.

Any thoughts?

MS no longer provide the facility to share as AFP, last version that supported it was Server 2003 as Services for Macintosh IIRC.

OS X can access CIFS/SMB (ie native Windows shares), it's likely to become the default in Mavericks.

Yes I thought that was the case... but it highlights its possible.

I'll be shocked if there isn't a small piece of software of something that cant replicate it!
