Hello guys,
I upgraded my PC to coffee lake at christmas and since then my Pc has not been very stable at all.
I am using a GB Aorus gaming 7, 8600k and team elite ddr4 3000 Ram.
ASUS Strix OC 1080ti
I am on defauly bios settings, no overclock.

Today I have had 6 complete freezes, sometimes it reboots, sometimes it stays completely locked out. Im looking for advice to narrow down this issue. Hoping someone can offer some help.

Regards
Daz

What have you done/tried?

Checked CPU compatibility with the bios you have?
What fixes do the newer bios's offer?
Checked windows event logs after a crash?
Monitored CPu temp?
Tried running with the GPU removed (using onboard graphics)?
Tried running with one stick of ram at a time?
Run Memtest booted from USB?
Tried a stress test of the CPU?
Was it a fresh install or a re-used drive?
Are their particular jobs/tasks that are a sure fire way of making it crash? or does it seem random?

Thanks for the reply... So far I have:

Done a test with Memtest86: 30 mins no errors and the app started in some "sleep" loop.
Stress tested CPU for 15 mins... no errors.
I have just updated the MB Bios actually and there is a new Geforce driver, so that is being installed right now.

As for common tasks, it just seems totally random. It frozen browsing the web, sat on desktop and also loading into a map on Battlefield. Doesnt seem to have any common factor I can attribute to a particular task at all.

I was looking for a crash dump on Win10 but I cannot locate that?

Will keep testing and have to go to one stick of ram also. Ill post back my finidings.

Thanks

Just froze again.... loading a battlefield 1 map.

Music continues to play in the background for a while before also freezing.
