But of a weird title, but I drew a blank coming up with something better.

I'd like to know which game or games you regret not being able to play anymore because they won't run on a new Windows version. Those where all the compatibility modes just won't work.

Evidently dual-boot gets around a lot of these problems, so which are the games that you fear are really lost forever now (I mean non-DOS games, by the way).

Please take into account that someday soon all those old switch-box driven 386-es of ours with Windows 3.11 will just die of old age.

Star Wars Episode One Racer, haven't had that working for a while :(

I used to dual-boot windows ME and XP, with ME for the games that had issues on XP. But most things that I play nowadays work fine on Windows 7, so I've been happy just keeping that on its own :)

For ancient games you could get a windows 95 virtual machine going in dosbox or something i suppose :p

Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2, it just doesn't seem to work on W7 and it was an awesome game, mainly because I'm in love with everything LOTR though :)

For a while I was really ****ed off that Space Empires 5 doesn't work on Win7-64. However I recently got Space Empires 4 in that insanely cheap mega-pack Strategy First released and, happily, it runs like a dream. 5 was basically just upgraded graphics so I don't feel I'm losing out too much.

It would be nice to play it again though.

Wipeout 2097.

Whenevr we get to the point that Deus Ex doesn't run on the latest windows.....

They will have to make a remake simple as that, I just can't see another option :p

The only stuff I have trouble with is DOS games, and they tend to be sortable with Dosbox. There might be a few 3dfx era games that cant be run these days.

I play that most sundays with my friends. All of us running Win 7 with a 32/64bit split of 3/4. No issues at all aside from having to bodge connections due to EA shutting down the servers.

Number of things not running for me, the latest (causing me to start this thread) being Quake 3 Arena.

But also: Loderunner on-line, Scrapland, Thief 2, Max Payne 1, and System Shock 2 crashes after about 5 minutes.
