Windows Genius' - How to alter Team Fortres 2 game menu screen?

lO,

I am posting in here as I'm hoping someone can help me make or point to some guides explaining how to first make .exe files that install programs and can be uninstalled.

Basically I'm trying to get made/ learn to make an exe file program that will add a line into the Team Fortress 2 menu screen, enabling people to join my servers reserve slot by clicking on a button inside TF2.

I know its possible as ukcs.net have made one, but I dont even know where to start making one.

I am willing to pay a nominal fee of £20, with a free reserve slot for my server! If someone can make this and show me how to edit it incase we need to change the ip the plugin will refer to.

Hope that makes some kind of sense? Can anyone help me

i have no programming experience, but from what I know of these things, it might be easier to look into where the UKCS nets plugin installs itself, then look for the script file, then change it so that the ip for one of the buttons points it to your server, then distribute that script file itself, with the note that the last UKCS server button will point to your server.

thats my quick and dirty solution i guess.

you can make shortcuts to the game which will launch directly into the server (not what you want, but thought i'd add it to the thread)

I think your on to something, I have found the file the ukcs plugin has edited. I can copy that and alter that for my server

and distribute it as a zip and a decent readme.

That's actually a GUI and requires editing a few scripts or files in the tf directory in your steam folder. It is like that for CSS so would imagine the same for TF2

I will see if I can find the name of the script and what to add later.
