So the deal is my windows hard drive became corrupt yesterday and so I ordered a new hard drive which should be arriving today.

I have a fairly old PC, an Epox 8k5a3+, xp 2700, 512 DDR 333Mhz, 9700pro etc. and in the 4 years I've had it, two of the 3 Western Digital drives have become corrupt. There is one 250Gb slave WD drive remaining. I've purchased a Seagate 320Gb drive.

I'm worried that when I install it as Master my computer won't detect it and therefore I won't be able to install windows onto the new undetected drive. Is this possible or will my mobo definitely detect the new drive? Is there anything I should do to ensure the new drive is detected?

Thanks - I'll probably update later when it arrives.
