How do I backup the home server System drive? Its the only thing that isnt mirrored in my setup?

I've added a 80GB firewire disk to backup the system?

Simple answer you can't. You could create an image of it, but it would get messy reinstating it due to the way it uses the tombstones to reference the actual data files. As well, the image would only be useful at the time the snapshot was taken, as any changes to do the data would change the tombstones.

Long answer is I've seen some guys over at wegotserved do this, but it looks more painful than it's worth.

As long as your data is secure, then the best method is just do a restore install using the WHS install CD...this should also work if you needed to replace the system disk, and retain your data - not sure I'd be that trusting though.



That's useful, but it's for backing up the WHS Client backups, it won't backup the sys drive itself AFAIK.
