I am thinking of building a Windows Home Server for my Mac Mini which I use with Plex.

I will be using this pretty much exclusively to rip/store Blu Rays and DVD's.

I presume the spec doesn't need to be silly high, just relatively sensible......

I priced up what seemed to be a reasonable spec earlier this evening which came out at £460.00 for the hardware:

Intel G840 2.8 Ghz Sandybridge
Gigabyte H61M with int. gfx,
4Gb of Corsair Value Ram
2 x 2tb Samsung Spinpoint
LG BD writer
500 Coolermaster PSU
Silverstone PS03 case

I have the other bits I need in terms of hardware and will add a lot more drives in due course (when I need them) and can add a SATA controller card if needed

Can anyone think of any better alternatives?

A perfect mobo would be something with integrated graphics, HDMI out and plenty of SATA ports......

Thanks for looking

That looks excellent, especially considering the cash-back offer.

Unfortunately with it only have 4 bays I would fill it up in a couple of weeks.

The case I thought of getting has 7 x 3.5 slots and 4 x 5.25, so I could fit an optical drive and up to 10 x 2 tb drives in time.

It's a shame I've got so many DVD's/BD's as that offer is tempting, but I'd multiple of them and in that instance I'd rather to the above.

Any thoughts on a mobo -integrated gfx, hdmi and as many sata ports as possible....

Thanks
