Hi people,
Can someone help with a small problem? The other day Widows XP Home decided to throw a wobbly and would not boot to desktop or boot using system restore, but it did load using safe mode. Then out of the blue it loaded ok, I did nothing except take the side off the case and check all was seated ok or see if a fan had stopped or something.

My problem is that now that it does load, all my folders, everything in them and all the desktop icons have an underline under the name like so: My Documents My Network Places and inside the folders it’s the same, flower. jpg etc. Anyone got any idea how to get rid of it and just get the name back like it was before. I can’t seem to find anything in the help files, and it’s beginning to get annoying.

Thanks in advance.U]

I can't tell you exactly what option it is but i can point you in the right direction (no pc - mac user) if you open a windows explorer view where this problem occours, for example my doc's then go to tools > folder options, then in amoungst all those options is web view or some thing similar disable that and it should resolve the problem, if I am wrong then I know for a fact that the option you need to change is in there I just recalled the wrong name, so keep looking in their for some thing that might be right.

sound like the 'Single Click' option is on!...

Tools - Folder Options -
Click.jpg

You've got 3 options there!...

1) Double Click
2) Single Click - With Underline
3) Single Click - No Underline (which I use!... Sheer Lazyness!! :D )

Thanks for the quick reply, All sorted now, yes you were right it was in folder options, Click with underline. I should have seen it but it's been that long since I set it up the first time I just never gave it a thought.

Thanks for the help
