windows image help?

hi

ive just had a clean copy of windows 7 installed on my laptop with its new hardrive , i dont put much on my laptop as i only use it for browsing the internet and a bit of light gaming and so on.

do i still need to create a system image ?

I do have a cd from dell that has the operating system on it , so i was just going to backup the odd file i dont want to lose.

i know its quicker to restore an image but i dont mind having to wait a bit longer if i have to reinstall using the cd?

Using Win 7 "Backup and Restore" I would make a backup image and put it on another partition on the laptop, or if you don't have another partition, put it on an external HDD, the Backup and Restore also lets you make a boot cd to restore the backup when required, or you can just use the Win 7 install DVD (to boot from to restore cd)...
