Got my new system delivered today but having problems installing the operating system. Three times I have tried installing oem Windows XP Home and on each occassion it gets to 34 minutes left and either locks up (can't move mouse pointer/flashing image stops) or just continues to flash away for over an hour with no hd access/cdrom access or anything.

System Specs:
Asus P5W DH Deluxe
E6600 Processor
GSkill HZ Ram
Scythe Ninja Cooler
Antec Case and Psu
WD 320GB HD
NEC DVD Writer
Leadtek 6200 Geforce gfx card

Any help greatly appreciated!

I had the very same problem recently and it was down to me using a combination of a slipstreamed disc and a dirty CD/DVD drive.
once cleaned and using a new slipstream disc it was fine.

It's an original oem disc ordered with the computer bits. It didn't look dirty and I tried it in both the sony cdrw drive and the nec dvdrw.
