Windows Install crashing?!?!?!

Hi

So i've now installed all components when I attempted to install windows 8.1 it gets through the initial install then reboots and said something life configuring devices at which point it crashes?

I've googled it but still none the wiser!

Are you installing to an SSD? If so and you have a storage drive, unplug all drives except for the one you are installing to and try again
I believe sometimes windows install derps and puts files onto the none-boot drive so the main one can't boot properly!

So you connected everything up as I pointed out?

How do you mean crashing? is it restarting constantly? or is it getting past the BIOS splash screen then restarting?

it boots into the bios fine it's just as i'm going through the windows install where i have the issues!

As suggested I've unplugged the 2 x sata drives and left just the SSD connected, just going to try and install again now!

if you have anything else connected such as odd USB devices disconnect them too.

After a bit of troubleshooting it looks like an issue with the asus wireless pic-e card i've removed it and installed the drivers for it but still not working?

Is it visible in device manager?

Are you now on the desktop with everything else working?

I had this issue before and it was due to faulty ram causing the install to be corrupt

yes it's up and running now but whenever i install the wireless card it crashes with an irql_not_less_or_equal error, i've taken the card out and i've connected it via a cable to my modem but it wouldn't detect the network so i'm now installing the drivers for the mother board from the cd provided to see if that fixes that issue to allow me to get online

The gaming 5 or 7 board has a killer NIC chip so yeah, drivers are needed before it works.
