WIndows install over 2 HDDs

When I try to install windows it installs system files on my other hard drive, so it needs both drives to boot.

Is this a good or a bad thing?

ie will it give a performance increase?

I've come across this once. When i first installed to a Sata drive Windows installed ok, but put the boot files on my other drive which was Ide. The answer for me was to unplug the Ide drive and reinstall, it was fine after that.

I too had to unplug on hard drive to get to install corectly on one occasion.

possibly the boot order was set to use ide first, then sata
altrenatively it may be the manner and order in which partitions are setup

I take it you did press F6 at the begining of the Windows Setup to install your SATA drivers?
