I completed my first built computer the other day but am having issues with windows. When I install it it gets to the part where it says it is copying files and comes up with the message saying some files are missing. I managed to borrow a copy from my dads work incase I had a damaged cd but it does the same bringing up the same files as missing. I tried skipping but this brings up a fatal error later, I cant see that I managed to get two faulty cds so could it be a hardware issue?

Can anybody give me a hand with what could be up? :(

:( this is going to be annoying, ive not done any overclocking, wouldnt know where to start. So it looks like something hardware is faulty?

Would it just be down to faulty hardware or could it be incompatable?

edit: I've jsut read this, not sure what it means but could this be the problem?

Some people have said that the DS4 is alright with geil, it posts but you have to go into the bios to up the vdimm to the Geil's stock. The board seems to be set a bit low.

(I don't have one but there is certainly a thread on this, I think it was called something along the lines of "To all current and future DS3, 4 owners")

Run memtest (http://www.memtest86.com/) to test for memory errors.

Im running this at the moment, does it get to a point and actaully finish or keep looping? Have been going nearly two hours now.

Where it says errors its currently at 4365000 and counting, im guessing that pretty bad, so would that suggest its time to return the RAM?
