Outlook isn't functioning correctly on my computer where will not download e-mails but all my other computers on the network will fine with the same settings. Also my Norton has run out so I want to install a fresh copy of Windows and use AVG. The computer has been regularly updated and I use Ad-Aware.

The problem I have is that the computer will not boot from the windows CD, it goes straight to loading windows. I have reset the BIOS (then select boot from CD) and even updated the BIOS but still no joy. I have even changed the DVD drive for a spare one I have and still no joy.

I then decided to try an upgrade from windows and all started well but after it rebooted to continue the installation it just hangs at the blue windows setup screen.

MOBO: Asus P4C800 Deluxe
Windows XP SP2 bootable CD (checked and will boot from another PC)

Any ideas please?

I have just downloaded the XP setup floppy disks to check if it's the DVD drive but the floppys are also hanging on the blue setup screen. I have tried plugging the IDE cable into the second ide channel. I have also tried another HDD and even a different IDE cable.
The only thing I can think of is that the mobo is damaged but the PC still boots up into windows and runs ok.

Any ideas please?
